What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation. We can, & do, all experience hypnosis during a regular day.

Like those moments when someone talks to us, initially we don’t realise they are talking to us and then we say ‘oh I was in another world’, or that dreamy feeling as we drift off to sleep at night.

They are wonderfully relaxing moments during the day when your conscious mind is taking a rest – even if it is a brief one!

Make the most of that time as you go time as you go to sleep and make a request to your subconscious!

So what is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is communicating therapeutic suggestions to your subconscious during hypnosis.

While your conscious mind is resting your subconscious mind is alert and receptive.

Information can be readily received by the subconscious without the conscious minds’ filter that often interrupts your message!

You can effectively and gently release any beliefs or patterns that are limiting your potential and replace them with beliefs that support and accelerate your goals.

Your life delivers what you focus on and hypnotherapy can release the clutter from your mind and ensure that your focus is clear.

How do I choose a hypnotherapist?

Importantly I believe you should choose a hypnotherapist who belongs to a professional body.

These professional body’s have strict regulations on qualifications and professional development as well as ethics and standards that their members must comply with.

It is also important that you have a good rapport with your therapist and this starts with your first enquiry.

What if I can’t be hypnotised?

Anyone with willingness will more than likely be able to be hypnotised.

The exceptions would be someone with a degree of brain damage, possibly young children or someone who is being asked to try hypnotherapy against their wishes.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Everyone’s experience is personal, but you already know that feeling of day dreaming and that is a taste of what hypnosis feels like.

When hypnosis is intentional, then the feeling is more concentrated and more relaxing.

What issues can hypnotherapy deal with?

There really is no limit to what areas of your life hypnotherapy can help with.

It’s a wonderful way to build self esteem and manage life’s stresses.

It is also a great maintenance tool, so without a specific issue you can release the day to day clutter, increase your clarity and energy, and sharpen your focus and motivation.

Just like a massage for your mind.

Hypnotherapy can be used to release an unwanted habit such as nail biting or smoking.

Hypnotherapy is a very effective tool to complement weight loss goals.

It is a very effective tool to build confidence for public speaking or overcoming phobias.

The list is endless!

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on your personal situation, but what I can tell you is that on average hypnotherapy is effective is 1 – 3 sessions.

So you can look forward to making your desired changes and improvements now!

Changes can happen quickly when you set your mind to it.

What about self-hypnosis?

All hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis.

As the hypnotherapist I facilitate the process with you, but without your consent then hypnosis will not happen.

Once you discover the benefits of hypnotherapy you can continue to use it to enhance your life with and without the collaboration of your hypnotherapist.

Will I remember my hypnotherapy sessions?

The majority of people have very good recall of their session, though some parts maybe clearer than others.

Occasionally people remember most but not all of their session.

Will I be asked to do something foolish?

Absolutely not!

Clinical hypnotherapy is not stage hypnotism.

Your suggestions will be developed specifically for you.

We will partner to customise healthy suggestions to match your desired changes and improvements.

In hypnosis you are in complete control, you are able to accept or reject any suggestions.

Can I claim hypnotherapy from my private health fund?

It will depend on which fund you are with and your level of cover.

I am a registered Hypnotherapist and I have a Provider Number.

Contact your fund for clarification.
